The Conference Services Team welcomes our University of Florida International Graduate students! We understand the stress that international travel can create, so we work hard to create a perfect arrival point in the Heart of the Gator Nation. Let us show you the convenience of living on the beautiful campus of the University of Florida while you coordinate long-term housing for the duration of your program.

Availability & Eligibility

International Graduate Guest Housing is a short-term housing option available from July 1, 2016 – August 6, 2016.

To be eligible for International graduate Housing, a guest must be an incoming graduate-level student seeking a Master’s Degree or above at the University of Florida and must be 18 years of age or older.

International Graduate Students with valid UFID’s are eligible to participate in International Graduate Guest Housing. These students must be arriving to the USA to begin their Graduate program.

Current full-time University of Florida summer school students are not eligible for International Graduate Guest Housing with Conference Services and should contact the Main Housing Office at 352-392-2171 with any summer housing questions.

Rates & Inclusions

The nightly rate for International Graduate housing is $40.

International Graduate guests are housed in suite-style accommodations. Up to four students may share one tw-bedroom suite with a private bathroom. Students are placed in suites based upon gender, length of stay, and area of study (where applicable.)

Payment

All International Graduate Guests must submit a completed contract and full payment in order to check in.
 

International Graduate Students with valid UFID’s are eligible to participate in International Graduate Guest Housing. Students without valid UFID’s must contact their academic department or adviser to arrange for one to be assigned. Once a contract is completed, payments may be made between 8am and 3pm, Monday through Friday, and maybe coordinated by contacting a Conference Services Representative at HREFITSConferenceInvoices@housing.ufl.edu or 352-392-2171. If you are unable to reach a Representative, please leave a voicemail detailing the reason for your call and they will respond to you as soon as possible.

Payment must be made in full for you to receive keys at check-in. If another party will be paying for your reservation, please email them the formal instructions along with your completed contract.

Payment Methods Include:

  • Major Credit Card at the Main Housing Office or over the phone, 8am-3pm, Monday-Friday
  • Exact Cash or Check at the Main Housing Office, 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday
  • If a University of Florida Department is paying for the reservation, they may coordinate directly with Housing Accounts

    to arrange for a direct Journal Transfer of funds

Please note that a completed contract and full payment must be received at least 3 days prior to your contracted check-in date (unless otherwise agreed.) Room Keys will not be distributed until full payment is received.

In order to reserve your International Graduate Housing accommodations follow these easy steps:

  • Complete the International Grad Application here.
  • A Conferences Services Representative will send you a confirmation email within 48 business hours from ConferenceServices@housing.ufl.edu.
  • Provide necessary information via email to the Conference Services Representative. Once all necessary information is gathered, the Conference Services Representative will compile your contract and invoice and send it to you via email.
  • Review your contract and invoice. Then print, sign, scan and return the signature page of your contract via email to ConferenceServices@housing.ufl.edu.
  • A Conference Services Representative will complete the signature page and return you a completed version of your contract via email along with instructions for payment.
  • Complete payment at least 7 days prior to your contracted check-in date (unless otherwise agreed.)

Issues or Emergencies

Any issues regarding internet, linen, or other guest services may be reported to the Area Desk so staff may assist accordingly. An emergency in the area of maintenance or housekeeping is defined as a situation where a maintenance repair or some attention is essential in order to maintain the health and safety of the resident, as well as to protect the building and its property.

In the event of an emergency, guest should dial 9-1-1 or contact campus police (352-392-1111.) Guest should remain alert when on campus and always be aware of the nearest Blue Light station where campus police can be notified of an emergency. Guests should always lock their doors and keep their room keys on their person at all times.

Guest should avoid interacting with local wildlife. Florida is home to many venomous, poisonous, and lethal wildlife including snakes, spiders, alligators, and plants. Please ensure your safety and the safety of our wildlife by maintaining your distance and using paved paths. Contact the Area Desk for assistance with intruding wildlife.

  • Payment may also be made by electronic journal transfer, credit card, money order, or cash.
    1. If you are paying via Journal Transfer, please email your chart field information to HREFITSConferenceInvoices@housing.ufl.edu, clearly indicating what reservation you are paying for.
    2. Money order and cash payments must be made in person at the Main Housing Office.
    3. Credit card payments will be assessed a 2.6% service charge and may be completed over the phone or in person at the Main Housing Office located on the corner of SW 13th St. and Museum Rd, Gainesville, Florida.
  • Payments of incurred charge at the end of the reservation must be paid in person at the Main Housing Office before departing campus.

  • In which residence hall will I be living in?
    International Graduate Guest Housing is located in the apartment-style residence area, Keys Complex. Students are place in apartments based upon gender, length of stay and area of study (where applicable.)
  • What is included in the room?
    International Graduate guests are house in single-occupancy, apartment-style bedrooms. Up to four students may share one four-bedroom apartment. Common spaces in each apartment include a full kitchen, large living area, and two bathrooms. Students have access to high-speed internet and laundry facilities ($1.50 to wash or $1.25 to dry.)
  • Are there dining options, and are these included in the fees?
    International Graduate Guest Housing is a short-term housing option and does not include the option to purchase a dining plan.
  • Is there wireless Internet in my Room?
    Wireless Internet is available, but not guaranteed. Guests are encouraged to bring an Ethernet cord to ensure that they have access to an internet connection at all times. More DHNet information is here: https://www.dhnet.ufl.edu/
  • Is there parking, and is this included in the fees?
    Parking is first-come, first-served on campus. You may purchase a parking pass by visiting the University of Florida Transportation and Parking’s website, but this does not guarantee a close parking spot. Parking pass prices vary depending on the type of parking pass you purchase. There are no reserved spots for guests.
  • What will my mailing address be?
    Mail service is not included and any mail received will be returned to the sender. Guests are encouraged to establish a P.O. Box or request that their mail be received at their UF program location.
  • I have a UFID or Gator 1 Card. How do I set up my own Gatorlink internet account?
    All International Guest Housing guests with UFIDs must set up their own internet account. Visit this site for instructions: http://identity.it.ufl.edu/process/gatorlink/create-account/
  • What should I do if I have an issue with my apartment or other services provided?
    If your issue is an emergency that may impact the immediate safety of you or another individual, dial 911 to contact the police. If your issue is a cleaning or maintenance emergency, or if your issue is NOT an emergency, contact the Keys area desk at: 352-392-8107. The Desk staff will notify the Conference Services Team or other emergency personnel as needed. Any non-emergency issues may be scheduled addressed during typical business hours (Monday-Friday, 8AM -5PM.)
