Student Assistant

Off Campus Life

Off Campus Life helps students daily with finding housing, the transition to living off-campus, and connecting to the Gainesville community. This role focuses on educating students by providing resources about the transition to living off-campus and opportunities to connect with Gainesville community. Students in this position will hone their abilities to communicate effectively, lead events or programs, and discover ways collaborate with others achieve common goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement educational programming on resources available within the surrounding Gainesville community and those living off campus  
  • Compile assessment data utilizing information to generate reports for decision-making 
  • Assist with daily operation of Off Campus Life including answering incoming phone calls, emails, walk-in appointments, and maintaining appropriate filing 
  • Resolve customer or resident questions and provide the proper resources 
  • Assist with social media planning, messaging, and management for events and programs  
  • Attend Off Campus Life events and programs to generate social media content for current and future events 
  • Create a welcoming environment for all students, families, and visitors through positive interactions and engagement 

    Qualifications

      Required Qualifications

      • This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus 
      • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average 
      • Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week  

          Preferred Qualifications

          • Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, dependability, and timeliness 
          • Knowledge of social media platforms  
          • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
          • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
          • This position may require availability for shift times on evenings and weekends
