More information about eligibility.
The Process
1. Apply
Graduate and Family Housing apartments are rented based on availability and we take applications and rent apartments throughout the year. Eligible students should apply 10-12 weeks prior to their desired move in date. The application process requires a UF Student ID number and a non-refundable $25 application fee.
2. Select an Available Apartment
A flexible move in date increases your odds of getting an apartment. We cannot hold apartments or monitor availability for students. Note that the list of vacant apartments is available only 6-8 weeks in advance of the move in date because we only require 60 days’ move-out notice. Apartments are rented to the first eligible applicant to make a request.
3. Acceptance Meeting
After you submit your selected apartment, you will have an acceptance meeting. You will receive an e-mail with the meeting date and location. Only the student who applied for and offered the apartment needs to attend the meeting. Please bring a photo ID and the names of anyone that will be living in the apartment. The meeting should last around 30 minutes.
4. Complete your Contract, Pay your First Month’s Rent and Move in!
Incoming residents will sign a contract with the Graduate & Family Housing staff in the main housing office when they move in.
