The UF Dept. of Housing & Residence Education offers a large variety of residence facilities. In this section information about housing options is offered so students can find the right living environment for their needs.
From the charm of the historic Murphree Area buildings to the modern, apartment-style living of the Lakeside Residential Complex, a wide range of preferences and budgets can be accommodated.

Single-student Housing

Links to the 24 residence halls organized by campus area: East Campus/Murphree and West Campus. Single-student housing indicates housing for students who aren't married. Room types include singles, doubles, triples, suites, and apartments.

Graduate & Family Housing

The Department of Housing & Residence Education offers 5 "Village Communities" for single graduate students; married couples, with or without children, single parent families. Accommodations range from efficiencies to 1 and 2 bedroom apartments to townhouses. Check eligibility info for family housing. Check rental rates.

Academic Initiatives & Enhancement (AIE)

This office responsible for the development, oversight, and assessment of Residential Learning Communities and Academic Enhancements in residence halls.

H.A.W.K. (Maintenance/Custodial Request)

Click on the above link to submit a maintenance, custodial or pers control request on the Housing Automated Work-request Kiosk. Residents must be connected to the Department of Housing & Residence Education computer network (DHNet) to successfully use the H.A.W.K. webpage.

Internet hook-up/Computing

DHNet — the Dept. of Housing Ethernet fiber optic computer network — allows access to the University’s campus-wide network and the Internet with some restrictions.

Housing for Students with Medical/Physical Conditions

Info for students with medical/physical conditions that may require accommodation related to their condition.

Single-student residence hall rooms are furnished with beds, mattresses, dressers, study desks, desk chairs, a wastebasket, and window coverings. Staff can not remove assigned furniture from student rooms to storage. In the Springs Residential Complex, 80" long x 39" wide x 7" thick mattresses are provided. In all other halls, mattresses are 80" long x 36" wide x 7" thick.

Full-sized refrigerators are provided in the Beaty Towers, Keys Residential Complex, and Lakeside Residential Complex facilities. Residents in all other halls may rent or purchase a refrigerator no larger than 12 cubic feet and 3.5 amps that meet all fire and safety requirements.

CATV service is included in student rent from local provider COX Cable.

  • The COX Communication office in Beaty will be open at the beginning and end of each semester, visit www.cox.com/UF for more information.
  • Housing's Resident TV (Channel 8) shows movies and operate as a community message board.
  • ATTV (Channel 15) operates out of the Academic Technology office and offers live video tutor programming.

Laundry Rooms

The Dept. of Housing provides laundry rooms in each residence area.

Swimming Pools

The Dept. of Housing maintains five swimming pools around campus.

Telephone Service

Telephones are ONLY found in Graduate & Family Housing apartments. There are NO phone jacks in single residence halls. For more information click the link.
