Living On Campus

Congratulations on choosing to live in the heart of the Gator Nation! This page will provide a quick overview of the steps necessary to live in campus housing at the University of Florida.

New Freshman Applicants

New Freshman Applicants

1. Apply

If you’re planning to live on campus, submit a housing application and $25 non-refundable fee as soon as possible. Your Housing Application Date secures your place line for room selection. Apply as soon as you’ve applied to UF for the most options. If you wait until you’re accepted to UF, you will have limited options for campus housing. On campus housing is not guaranteed for incoming students. To apply, click here.

*An application is not a guarantee that you will be offered housing if admitted to UF

2. Contract

After students have been admitted to the university, we will begin offering housing contracts. Submit your contract and advanced rent payment by your due date to guarantee a housing space. If you are under 18 at the time you are offered a housing contract, parents MUST also accept the terms and conditions of the housing contract. Once you have completed your contract(s) you will be guaranteed a space for the applicable terms.

3. Room Selection

Building selection and placement for incoming freshman will happen in May. The earliest applicants will be able to select where they live on campus. Other students will be assigned by UF Housing staff based upon their application date and preferences.*

4. Pay your Rent

Rent is due in full prior to the beginning of each semester. Students with enough financial aid are eligible for a rent deferment. This is different than a tuition deferment.

5. Move In
