Graduate and Family Housing: Non-enrolled Petition

Please remember that all Graduate and Family Housing residents must submit a Notice of Intent to Vacate 60 days before moving out. Residents who do not submit a Notice of Intent to Vacate before moving out could be obligated to pay a maximum of 60 days’ rent after moving out.

You must request permission to remain in Graduate and Family Housing for an additional amount of time if you are not enrolled in classes. The latest extension date for students not attending classes during Spring 2022 will be May 31st, 2022.

If you would like to stay  for the Spring 2022 semester without being enrolled in classes, you must fall into one of the following categories:

Graduating Students

Currently enrolled students who are graduating this semester (Fall 2021) may petition for an extension.

CLEAR PRIOR: Students who are clear before graduation for the Fall 2021 semester do not qualify for a semester extension beyond graduation and must move out by November 30th, 2021.

Semester Off

Students who are currently enrolled in a class and enrolled in at least one Fall 2021 course may request to stay in GFH without enrolling in classes for the Spring 2022 term. GFH residents may not take (2) consecutive semesters off from class or be non-enrolled for 2 out of 3 semesters. Therefore, students granted an extension for Summer 2021 must take at least one course during theFall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters to remain in GFH. Residents (non-graduating) who were not enrolled in at least one class during Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 terms cannot petition for an extension for Spring 2022.
