Day Of Move In:
Bring your id
On Move-In Day when you check-in at your community you will need your UFID or a Driver’s License (if you do not have your UFID). Residents will need to bring their UFID with them inside to check-in. We encourage you to pack it somewhere easily accessible for your convenience.
Check in process
Student must be present to move-in. • Family members may not check-in for their student.
When you arrive to your community, the first thing you will do is check-in and pick up your keys. This process will happen inside your community. There will be staff and signage to direct you to your check-in location. While your family and friends begin unloading, you will go to check-in.
Unloading Parking (5-10 Min)
Many students move into the halls at the same time. Please help us support you in getting moved in efficiently. Someone must stay with your vehicle at all times or you may be ticketed or towed.
Short Term Unloading locations: Red Lot, Housing service drive, or on the side of a roadway. Do not block traffic.
Restricted Areas (May be ticketed or towed): Brown lots, reserved spaces, disabled parking spaces, car pool spaces, no parking zones, fire lanes, sidewalks, bike lanes, or on the grass.
No unauthorized parking from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-F in Orange, Blue, or Gated Lots.
You will be asked to unload your vehicle and then move it to a permanent parking lot. We have carts and staff to help, but it is always a good idea to bring more help and your own cart/dolly if you have one.
Parking After Unloading
Please immediately move your vehicle after unloading. Student Parking Lots: Red 1, All Red, Green, or Any Decal lot. Decal restrictions are lifted for a very short time in these lots. Visitors with disabled parking placards may use disabled parking spaces. Students with disabled parking placards may use disabled parking spaces during check-in and then must purchase UF disabled student decals.
Most of our halls have elevators (except for Murphree Hall, Fletcher Hall, Sledd Hall, Thomas Hall, Buckman Hall and the Keys Complex). Where elevators are available, students are allowed one trip up for their belongings. Only staff operators are allowed to ride in freight elevators.
Before you arrive be sure to prepare all of your devices for our World Class Wireless services. Complete the Resident Checklist here: https://it.ufsa.ufl.edu/students
