We post available units every Friday morning at 9am. These units will have a move-in date typically 60 days from the present. It is a very competitive process, so we recommend checking the Apartment Selection tab of HMS several weeks in a row and consider off-campus options as well.
Students can live in GFH as long as they are enrolled in degree-seeking courses. We understand that students can want to live with us for many years while they finish their program, so we only require a Notice of Intent to Vacate of 60 days before they are looking to move out.
Maguire and UVS are located near the Florida Museum and Southwest Recreation Center. Corry Village is located right next to the Law School, Diamond Village is located beside the Main Housing Office, and Tanglewood is located farther off campus on 13th street. You can search their locations here for more detail: https://campusmap.ufl.edu/#/index.
When a student contracts an apartment, there will be a move-in date listed. This date is the earliest date a student can move in to the unit and also when the billing begins. They can move into the apartment on this date after 4PM.
They will need to pay the pro-rated first month’s rent in order to receive their key. This can be done online or in person ahead of time or the day of move-in. Additionally, if the student has a spouse and/or children they will need to bring the documentation for verification as well.
Students can notify us typically 4-5 business days in advance that they are unavailable during office hours. In this case, we will prepare their key and move-in packet at Infinity Hall or another 24-hour desk location specified by our staff.
Graduate and Family Housing residents can request a transfer after living in the space for 180 days. If students need a new apartment due to a change in circumstances, such as expecting a child or a medical accommodation, the student can reach out to our office regarding a transfer request.
Graduate and Family Housing apartment transfers are offered on a priority basis. For example, students expecting a child will be given priority to transfer to a two-bedroom apartment over a student who has a location preference.
Yes, if you submit a Non-Enrolled Petition and it is approved by our staff. You must have been enrolled for the past two consecutive semesters and will only be able to stay one extra semester while you’re not enrolled.
